Heavenly Chapel Ministry begins with a simple belief: There is a God, and our existence has purpose.
We turn to the King James Version of the Bible for its teachings, wisdom, stories, and lessons. But we will not tell you that there is only one conclusion you are permitted to draw from every passage you read.
Read the words. Study them. Pray about them. Think about them. Ask questions. Listen to what they speak to your heart.
I will share my own beliefs openly. I believe that we are souls having a mortal experience and that this life is part of a much greater spiritual journey. I believe that before entering this world, the soul undertakes a path through which it has opportunities to learn and grow. I believe we possess free will, and therefore that path is not a script written down to the smallest detail. Our choices matter.
I believe that when our mortal life ends, our existence does not.
The soul reflects upon the life it has lived: What did I learn? Where did I grow? Where did I fail to grow? How did my choices affect others? What remains for me to understand?
And I believe the soul may return to mortal existence again, continuing its journey of learning and spiritual growth.
Those are my beliefs.
I cannot prove all of them to you. I cannot tell you that I possess every answer about God, death, heaven, the soul, or what happens before we are born. I don’t. I don’t believe any mortal person does.
My faith is also informed by research, including decades of investigation into reported past-life memories and related experiences. Research can give us evidence to consider and questions worth asking. Faith takes us into territory where evidence alone cannot provide every answer.
Personally, I find it difficult to believe that this brief mortal existence is the entirety of who we are—that we are born, live for a handful of decades, die, and simply cease to exist. My heart and my faith tell me that there is more.
But my faith does not have to become yours.
Heavenly Chapel will never ask you to believe something merely because a minister tells you to believe it. I can teach. I can share what I believe. I can tell you why I believe it. I can point you toward scripture, research, history, and other ideas worth considering.
But I cannot make your spiritual conclusions for you.
Those belong to you.
Seek God. Read. Study. Question. Pray. Think. And decide what you believe in your own heart.
That is what faith means here.
